Bread Rolls

Ingredients
- 250 ml tepid water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 520 g strong white flour
- 2½ tsp. instant yeast
Topping
- 1 tbsp. butter, melted
Directions
- Place ingredients in loaf pan in order listed.
- Set programme to “leaven”.
- When finished, remove dough from pan, line baking tray with baking paper and head oven to 180°C
- Divide into 8 pieces and shape into balls. Place on baking tray with some room for them to expand.
- Place baking tray in plastic bag and leave to rise until doubled in size - about 30-40 minutes.
- Brush with the melted butter and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
Best eaten warm…
They don’t keep too long; a day or so in a sealed container before they start getting a bit firm. They do freeze well though.
