Vanilla Ice Cream

Okay - you’ll need an ice cream machine for this one…

Probably could make it without an ice cream maker, but I’ve never tried and probably never will.

  • Without the vanilla it makes a good base for other ice cream flavours.
  • If you want to add chunks (like cookie dough) then freeze them and add just before the ice cream is finished in the machine.

  • 5 minutes
  • 30-40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 tin sweetened condensed milk
  • 300 ml double cream
  • 150 ml full fat milk
  • 1 + 1/2 tsp. vanilla essence

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to large bowl and whisk until smooth
  2. Transfer to ice cream maker and switch on
  3. When the churning ice cream starts forming stiff peaks spoon into a clean, chilled ice cream tub.
  4. Place in freezer for 1 hour before serving.
